Meet the Team – Lorraine!

Lets get to know our Nurse Manager, Lorraine!

Name: Lorraine Kilpatrick

Job Title: Nurse Manager

Over 2 Years.

As Nurse Manager, I have daily meetings with our Head of Care Homes, Kirsteen to get updates on anything new from her significant role.

I will usually check the Care Inspectorate and Scottish Government for any new changes or updates relevant to the health and care of our candidates and any impacts on their role. I pass this information onto the candidates if there is anything to report. I send a bi-monthly newsletter to our candidates informing them of any CPD events, changes in local and national guidelines and discuss topics from Health and Social Care.

Connecting with candidates and meeting new people. I am always inspired by the skills and varied experiences in the nurses I interview. I am always curious as to what makes them passionate about being a nurse.

I was an agency Nurse for our sister company, Direct Medics and had the opportunity nearly 4 years ago to become the Nurse Manager. Becoming Nurse Manager of CLG in addition to my current role was a natural progression of the business. Having worked in the past as a RGN in care homes and as a Deputy Manager, I was able to bring a wealth of experience and love of nursing into this role.

Goodness where to begin!!

I have an allotment where I grow all my own organic fruit and veg I make lots of jams and chutneys for our allotment gala days and events. I am a clinical reflexologist and make all my own salves and oils from the herbs and flowers I grow. I carry out workshops training people on Kombucha, Sauerkraut, chutney and jam making, soup-making and ferments.

I love to crochet and learning to knit and go to pottery classes.

I am also a new nanna to Maree, a Borador puppy, who is just full of life and energy and loves a car ride in Nanna’s convertible to the beach.
